Oakland Unified School District Elementary (TK-5) Hillcrest School 30 Marguerite Drive, 94618 879-1270 www.hillcrestpta.org Site Code 127 | Options Code 42 K-8◊ Established in 1950, Hillcrest School is a small, neighborhood school serving students in kindergarten through eighth grades. There is a team spirit that is evident throughout the school as teachers collaborate within, as well as across, grade levels to provide an educational program that challenges all students. The needs of all of our students are met in a differentiated, articulated approach and curriculum decisions are based on data from various District, state and informal assessments. Hillcrest is the pulse and social center of this Claremont Hills community. Many families walk their children to and from campus and stay after Morning Circle to catch up on school and community news. Afterschool programs allow our children to remain at school to play or to attend enrichment classes. Hidden talents and dreams are discovered through the wide array of school offerings paid for by the Hillcrest PTA, including music, art, technology, ecoliteracy, Spanish and French, to name a few. Community Service is a cornerstone in our school community, so students at every grade level can expect to participate in a variety of community service activities during each year of their Hillcrest education. It is our goal that by the time a Hillcrest student reaches the eighth grade, he/she will have had full and varied community service experiences.
