Cross Country Jessica Ford finished 15th in Senior Girls race and won the school senior cross country title for the third year in a row. Unfortunately, the schools best hope for a title, The HNHS Year 9 Girls team tasted success in the Georgia Hulls in Junior Girls, had to cry off from ECNISS cross country relays held at Anderson Park. Jenna Tidswell, Olivia Wolland, Grace Jones, and Aishlin competing on the morning of the event, due to being McIntyre saw off the early Woodford challenge and latterly unwell. Iona to win well in the end. Best of the other teams were the senior boys, where, after a strong start, enjoyed a fight with both the B team and St Johns. Jarrod Lobb, Sean Morrison, Callum Wilkie and Todd Burnard made up the team. The year 9 boys team Charlie Hartridge, Thomas Culham, Ryan Morton and Hamish Jackson finished third in their race. ECNISS Relays ECNISS Champs 22 cross country runners headed to Gisborne for the ECNISS cross country champs. Though there were no champions, Jenna Tidswell was the only podium finisher, third in the Y9 girls race. Aishlin McIntyre ran well for 7th, especially after being sick on the journey up. Joel Engelke 7th and Ben Waddington 18th were best of the junior boys’ while the senior boys’ turned in a solid effort, finishing 3rd in the 3-man teams race. Daniel Way (8th), Callum Wilkie (9th) and Sean Morrison (14th) were the contributors. The Y9 boys’ ran as a pack, Charlie Hartridge (15th), Robert Curtis (16th), Jasper Blokker (17th) and Ryan Morton (18th) finishing very close together enabling them to finish 2nd in the 6-man category.
