LABOR OF LOVE

Fourteen labor and delivery rooms like the one seen here are located in The Family Care Pavilion , and are more than 350 square feet in size . Each comes equipped with a birthing bed , rocking chair glider optimized for breastfeeding ( it won ’ t hit the mother ’ s legs when she stands up ), a separate baby area that can accommodate twins , and a folding couch for sleepovers . For the doctors , bright birthing lights make it easier to focus on the perineal area . Two of the birthingrooms come with a whirlpool in the bathroom .
