TIP 3
Breakfast isn ’ t necessarily the most important meal
Stamp also dispelled the myth that breakfast is the most important meal of the day . It all depends on where you are and what you ’ re doing . Having a hearty breakfast when you plan on sitting around on a Sunday morning at home is one thing . BUT IF YOU ’ RE LOOKING TO HEAD OUT ON THE TRAIL , KEEP YOUR FIRST MEAL LIGHTER . “ It ’ s about how you manage your blood sugar ... whether you ’ re diabetic or not is not the point ,” Stamp said . “ It ’ s about managing your energy production . ( When camping ) we worry about our gasoline and our electricity . We worry about our sleep cycle . But really , the big part is when you get the calories during what part of the day versus what activity you ’ re doing .”
By the way , starting a chilly morning with a hot cup of coffee around the campfire might be nice , but SKIP THE COFFEE IF YOU WANT TO WARM UP FASTER . The caffeine actually constricts your blood vessels , which has a chilling effect on your body .
