connection with this , a bulldozer was loaned to the school by Major-General Cox . By September 1948 , work on the school field was completed .
During the December vacation of 1948 , extensive improvements were made in the school chapel which was in dire need of repair . The architect employed in this project was Mr . C . Y . Koh , an old boy of the school . The old altar was removed and the whole sanctuary was re-floored and elevated . A beautiful marble altar was made and put into position . A tabernacle door , candle sticks and a sanctuary lamp , all made of Malayan pewter were among the new additions to the Chapel . A marble altar rail was also erected .
The walls of the Chapel were re-plastered where necessary , and re-painted . The Stations of the Cross were taken out of their frames and fixed into the walls . The old lights were removed and flourescent lights installed .
