Beach Ottumwa
The Beach, which is owned by the City of Ottumwa, features an outdoor wave pool with more than 300,000 gallons of water, as well as curly slides and a speed slide, which descends more than 100 feet in the pool. There also is an eight-lane, 25-yard indoor pool that is often used for lap swimming and high school meets. There are two sand volleyball courts outside as well as a children’ s area that has a playground. Admission for 2026 is $ 7 per person, and $ 2 for children 3 and under, but hours are subject to change based on the weather. Eagle watching
The viewing of several species of birds, particularly eagles, is a popular pastime in the region. Eagles can be spotted along the Des Moines River in Ottumwa from the Market Street Bridge, the Bridge View Center and Des Moines River footbridge.
