Eddyville Raceway Park
The International Hot Rod Association( IHRA)-sanctioned facility just outside of Eddyville opened in 1965 and is a ⅛-mile drag strip on 60 acres of land. Ownership of the facility has changed hands over the years, but the track marked 60 years in 2025. Race nights are mostly Friday and Saturday evenings, with some Sunday events as well. The season lasts from late April to mid-October, and has events for children as young as 6 years old. For the most current information, visit the Eddyville Raceway Park Facebook page.

Lacey-Keosauqua State Park
This park in Van Buren County along the Des Moines River south of Keosauqua was designated in 1920 as the state’ s second state park. The park has over 1,600 acres and a 22-acre lake with plenty of fishing, hiking, camping and swimming available, and features bluffs and valleys, including a three-mile trail along the bluffs of the river. The campground has six family cabins and modern restrooms and shelters. Reservations can be made through the Iowa Department of Natural Resources website, which also has a dashboard for water quality on the beach.

This eatery on Madison Avenue in Ottumwa has been open since 2006, and serves surrounding communities such as Fairfield, Albia, Oskaloosa, Agency and Eddyville.
