George Daily Community Auditorium
Since opening in 1997, the George Daily Community Auditorium in Oskaloosa has been a hub for performing arts and education in Mahaska County, presenting everything from international touring productions to locally directed shows. This summer, the auditorium presents The Three Musketeers— based on the classic tale by Alexandre Dumas— Aug. 5-8, from the same team that brought The Hobbit to the stage in 2024. Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra
The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra is celebrating its 75th season, presenting orchestral performances across southeast Iowa with concerts in Burlington, Ottumwa and Mount Pleasant. Under the direction of Robert McConnell, SEISO features more than 70 musicians and annually hosts an artist in residence, a Young Artist Competition and the Concert for a Cause, which benefits a designated local organization. The Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra presents performances throughout the year, traditionally with concerts in the fall, winter and spring, as well as the annual outdoor Music on the Green concert and a Young Artist Competition. Pella Community Art Center
The Pella Community Art Center offers extensive, affordable arts programming for all ages, including classes in painting, clay, embroidery and more, staffed by local artists. The center also offers exhibitions, school outreach programs and art parties for groups of all kinds. Pella Opera House
Built in 1900 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Pella Opera House is downtown Pella ' s premier performing arts and event venue. Throughout the year, the Opera House hosts a diverse lineup of live music, theatrical performances, social events, historic tours and more— including a central role in Pella ' s annual Tulip Time festival each May. Union Street Players
Pella ' s award-winning community theater has been bringing live performances to the stage since 1989, with more than 150 productions over more than three decades. Each season, Union Street Players presents three main stage shows at the Joan Kuyper Farver Auditorium, ranging from beloved classics to family favorites. Beyond the stage, USP hosts a summer youth drama camp for students in grades 1-9, Murder Mystery Dinners and other community events throughout the year.
