Rosa Romero, Las Laderas Community Elder
“To our friends from Amoria Bond from the town of Laderas, we thank you all for helping the 21
families build their new homes. These families are very poor, where the majority are single
mothers who work to support their children. It is hard for them to have a home where they can
feel safe as they live in the hillsides without water or electricity, in huts made from cardboard
and plastic. For them, this has been a miracle – they now have their own home where they are
safe, protected from the rain and cold, and they feel extremely grateful.
Thanks to all of you, the lives of these families has changed. The children
now smile, they have hope about their future and having a better life. We
are also very grateful to Project Peru, through them we have been able to
meet you. Over the years, there have been 101 families who have
benefitted from your support, having a home built for them and as a
result have a much more improved life. The most important thing for a
family is to have a home, to enable them to raise their children. Living in
Lima is very difficult due to high rental and so, even though these homes
are in the outreaches of the town, it belongs to them.
For all these things dear friends, for all the help you have given to our community during the
days you have spent with the families building their homes, May God bless you all.
Regards,
Rosa”
Why did you support this cause?
Words from a few sponsors…
"What a gift to be able to consciously share in a way that offers support, assistance and most
importantly security to a family with young children. To see the look on their faces in photos
and to know that we've made a positive difference to fellow souls over 6300 miles away is heart
warming. Thank you to all the team that make this possible.” - Theo & Olivia Van Dort
“Quite apart from my love for the spirit of Peru, I particularly like what Amoria Bond Charitable
Trust are doing because I know that every penny of my contribution is going directly to those
who need it most.” - Keith Walton
“I simply wanted to help you in supporting these people to have the very basics in life and to
know that the money was going directly to build each house. I really just felt I it was right to
support your truly amazing work and I know just how rewarding it must be for you, it's
wonderful to make people happy.” - Annie De Silva
