Amoria Bond Charitable Trust AUGUST 2017 Karina Alza, Director - Project Peru “My name is Karina Alza, Director and social worker from Casa Hogar /Project Peru. In these facilities there are 50 children living in extreme poverty and risk. I have witnessed many times the dis-interest and indifference people have towards those who have so little. However, I feel it is possible to change the world little by little. There are people that although may be far away, with their love and solidarity enable us to have hope for a better world where we support one another and where equality and justice exists.   In June 2011, we received the welcome news that a group of people from an organisation called Amoria Bond, would come to our country to build 100 houses, fulfilling the dream of so many families – the dream to have a worthy place to live. Families, who in the face of adversity, battle day to day to improve their lives, were finally going to have their wish come true.   Building the houses wasn’t all that Amoria Bond did; they also spent time with the children, having fun and developing friendships with them.   The following year, we received really welcome news - a donation of 100 food hampers, which contained essential items. The donation was made in December and as such we called them Christmas hampers and shared them out amongst the most needy families from the Laderas community.   If you could have seen the look of surprise and joy on their faces when the families received the hampers, it was wonderful. Not just because they were getting much needed items and food to have over the Christmas period, but also because they understood that the hampers represented that they were not alone in their quest for a better life and that people who didn’t even know them were helping and supporting them in that.   Amoria Bond have shown us that there is no distance in our friendship. Not only have they had the desire to help and positively change the lives of the families here by building homes and sending them hampers, but perhaps more importantly they have demonstrated compassion, love, simplicity and more than anything, hope.   Congratulations and thank you, our friends, for achieving your goal.   We hope to see you soon.   Sending you hugs and smiles.   Karina” 18
