1 - Introduction - Living like a real Christian PEACE pt2 | Página 4

MONDAY Romans 8 v 28 The next evidence seen in People of Peace is that they believe GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME. These people are the ones who win the battle between facts and feelings, i.e. sometimes I don’t always feel that God is good. There are times when I face disappointments, when God doesn’t always answer my prayers the way I would like Him to, or that I feel my faith in Him is unproductive. It’s at times like these that we are tempted to entertain the thought that the “Goodness” of God might not be all that it’s cut out to be. Well, hear the truth: these are just tests! The objective of God putting us in the test is that we should pass the test. As soon as we live our lives out of our feelings, we are in trouble. Feelings are fickle and they cannot be trusted. Peace is reserved for those who truly believe that God is good all the time, even when circumstances may be less than comfortable and my prayers don’t seem to get past the ceiling. God is in His very essence, good and the sooner we come to terms with this fact, the sooner peace will be restored in your heart. Once again we look to the great character of Job as our model of a Person of Peace. Imagine after he had lost his wealth, health and family, you were to ask him the critical question, “Job, is God still good when everything that could go wrong has gone wrong?” You would, I’m sure, be as blown away by his answer as I’m sure Satan was: “The Lord has given, the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.” In our language, he would have answered, “Of course God is good, even when the evidence suggests otherwise!” Folks, I’m sure there may be times when you may not feel that God is good, but no matter how strongly you feel it, it doesn’t change the fact that HE IS GOOD. Contemplate these verses in the book of Psalms before you pray: Psalm 34 v 8 – “Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.” Psalm 69 v 16 – “Answer me oh Lord, out of the goodness of your heart. In your great mercy turn to me.” Psalm 85 v 12 – “The Lord will indeed give what is good and our land will yield its harvest.” Psalm 86 v 5 – “You are forgiving and good oh Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you.” Psalm 100 v 5 – “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever. His faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 107 v 1 – “Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love endures forever.” Prayer Thought: Won’t you personalise today the truth as it relates to the Goodness of God. Allow your faith to grow in tough times and for “goodness” sake, let’s pass the test.
