1 - Introduction - Living like a real Christian PEACE pt2 | Page 3
Hi everyone,
So far in our study of the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5), we have considered Love
and Joy, and we now find ourselves considering, for a second week, the subject of
Peace.
Last week we looked at
Peace Desired
Peace Defined and
Peace Demonstrated
Occasionally in life you meet what the Bible calls “People of Peace” – Jesus
mentioned such people in Luke 10 v 6. He also, in Matthew 5, speaks of
Peacemakers and, in Luke 1 v 79, refers to people who walk the “Path of Peace”.
This week I would like to add two more characteristics of “People of Peace” and
thereby hold up a model for us to learn from and imitate.
(Last week, after the Sharks’ narrow defeat to the Highlanders, I was not feeling
awfully peaceful, but I will get over it and so will you! Don’t panic – it’s all part of
the plan!)
Remember as we start that we do not find peace until we meet the “Prince of
Peace”, and as a result of His love for us and our responding love for Him, we find
that peace becomes a natural outworking of His Spirit’s presence in our lives.
Wouldn’t it be great if people, when referring to us, spoke of us as being People of
Peace.
God Bless
Trevor and Helene
