glory to the God that he loved. All the way through his story, we see him clinging
to a life of integrity and godly morals and ethics. It is amazing that, despite the
pressure to conform to an ungodly society, we never read of Daniel succumbing to
these temptations. I have to believe that this has something to do with his passion
for the glory of God that was reflected in his prayer life.
In Daniel 3 we meet three of Daniel’s contempories, namely Shadrach, Meshach

and Abednego. Their story is magnificent as they too, like Daniel, refused to bow
down to the golden image of the king, even though they were to be thrown into
the fiery furnace. They too believed that the glory of God required passionate,
heartfelt obedience which led them to stand confidently before the king and
refused to do what the majority were doing. They too, like Daniel, were consumed
with the glory of God and believed that there could be no substitute for Him.
