My experience.

The first unexpected one was that one day someone from Red Cross doorbell and asked if we had any donations. My mom said that we didn't have any because we just donated from Salvation Army which was one of my planned Pay It Forward activity. After the Red Cross person said that it was okay that we didn't have any to donate, she asked if she could use the washroom quickly. When she was done using the bathroom I offered her a cup of coffee and the banana bread I baked with my sister. When she was done eating, she thanked my family and wished us a merry Christmas. the second unexpected one was when we were driving home for Christmas and a man suddenly asked us if we could drive him home. with no doubt, my parents agreed and had let the man in our car. We had Mcdonald's so we offered him. at first, I was frightened because this guy was a stranger and we knew nothing about him, but in the end he just really needed a kind hearted person to drive him home.

How Did I Feel?

I felt positive, full of energy, lighthearted, and hopeful for all the things that I did because who wouldn't! but the feeling I had when we drove the man home for Christmas was another feeling. i felt two times the joy and positive energy i had felt when I did the other activities because my whole family was involved in that act of kindness and when I go to bed that night I know in my heart my family and I had driven home someone's son, brother, or father for Christmas and that is a feeling that really makes you feel good about yourself!

Is pay it forward an important and good idea?

In my opinion, the idea of “Pay It Forward” is an important idea because being kind is an important characteristic of a person. Doing something nice for strangers or people close to your heart without asking anything in return, just for them to be kind to others makes you feel better for yourself, and once in awhile, we do need to feel better for ourselves.
