Mayor Gray Launches Second DC China Center in Beijing; Announces New Economic Development Partnership
Second International Office to Advance City’ Efforts in Foreign Direct Investment

(BEIJING, CHINA) – To⁃
day, Mayor Vincent C. Gray and
Interim Deputy Mayor for Plan⁃
ning and Economic Development
M. Jeffrey Miller celebrated the
opening of the second DC China
Center in Beijing. During the cere⁃
mony, Mayor Gray also an⁃
nounced the launch of the Great⁃
er Washington China Investment
Center (GWCIC), a public-private
partnership designed to help Chi⁃
nese companies as they enter the
US market. GWCIC’s co-found⁃
ers include its CEO, Doug Guth⁃
rie; its President, Bill Black; and
its Vice President for Research,
Sarah Kellogg. Beijing technology
companies Taikong and Sanzen
are GWCIC’ first clients.
