Educating Girls of Rural China

As the official charity recipient of the Four Seasons Hotel
Beijing, EGRC’s cause matches Ivy’s perfectly. They are
dedicated to supporting girls from rural western China,
whose needs often take a back seat to those of their
brothers. Since its founding in 2005, they have helped
fund the high school or college education of over 1,000
students, with a 99% graduation rate. Our goal is to
raise 54,000 RMB for EGRC to help fund the high school
tuition fees for three deserving students.
Dew Drops Little Flowers

To be abandoned as a young child is already
heartbreaking. To be abandoned and suffer from a
medical condition is almost cause for complete despair.
But Dew Drops Little Flowers provides a helping hand
for these children. In operation since 2016, Dew
Drops’ small but dedicated team has helped hundreds
of children, with 127 abandoned children receiving
specialized care last year. Our goal is to raise 100,000
RMB for Dew Drops from our charity concert. Sixty
thousand RMB will provide the transport and a personal
24/7 caretaker for 10 children to travel to Beijing for
medical attention. The remaining forty thousand RMB
will cover the medical procedures for two children, so
that they may become eligible for adoption and find
their forever home.
Our target for the evening:
154,000 RMB .
It’s How the Community Comes Together
Once the decision was made to host a charity concert,
all of our previous partners have been beyond
enthusiastic in re-affirming their support again. The
Four Seasons Hotel Beijing did not hesitate to offer their
ballroom once again. Our old friends Truerun Media and
Yoopay will again be providing complimentary media
sponsorship and their ticketing/silent auction online

But most importantly, it’s our own families who are
extending such a great helping hand. Both Ivy and
Daystar families are generously donating for our silent
auction, and many have expressed their keen desire to
purchase a concert ticket. We are so incredibly grateful
for the warmth and heart, and are confident that with
all of your support, we will be able to reach our target
of 154,000 RMB.
It’s for Our Children
Finally, education does not encompass only academics,
far from it. We firmly believe that it’s never too young
for our students to learn about life; for them to realize
how lucky they are that they are healthy, that they are
loved, that they have access to amazing education and
life experiences. We want to help them learn not to
take things for granted and to develop empathy.
For our students to learn all of that, we as an organization
need to a. “walk the talk” because children learn by
example and b. provide them with opportunities to
encounter real life situations, and a chance to also
make a difference.
At the charity concert, our students will be supporting
the event by performing, volunteering as ushers, taking
care of a group of senior citizens who will be our VIP
guests at our event and more. In addition, a group of
Daystar middle school students will also be auctioning
an art piece that they will have personally created to
help raise funds. Letting these students actively be a
part of this evening, and making real and meaningful
contributions will help them realize that they can, from
a very young age, make an impact; that they can make
a difference.
And that is why we do, what we do.
