Holy spirit : 90 times in the
New Testament
Holy Spirit is one of those subjects
(another subject is “the devil”) which is
found almost entirely in the New
Testament.
This is partly because “holy spirit” is
related to other subjects found almost
entirely in the New Testament :
“baptism”, the “new creation”, “rebirth”,
the “new life”.
All of these new subjects in the New
Testament take their beginning from
Christ:
- the “firstborn of the new creation”
(Colossians 1:15),
- the “firstborn from the dead”
(Colossians 1:18),
- the “firstborn of many brothers and
sisters” (Romans 8:29).
