The beginning of the trouble
In the beginning,
when God made the
very first man, called
Adam, He taught him
His ways. He also
gave Adam a simple
law, and, just as a
father
expects
obedience from his
children,
so
God
expected obedience
from Adam.
God said, "Of every
tree of the garden
you may freely eat:
but of the tree of the
knowledge of good
and evil, you shalt not
eat of it: for in the day
that you eat of it you
will
surely
die."
(Genesis, chapter 2,
verses 16-17).
