Sheol in the Old Testament ‫عتيق‬ ‫عهد‬ ‫در‬ ‫شيئول‬ • Some people have thought that the wicked are sent to a place of punishment when they die, and that this place is called "hell". But let us see what the Bible says about it. ،‫شرير‬ ‫و‬ ‫گناهکار‬ ‫افراد‬ ‫که‬ ‫کنند‬ ‫می‬ ‫تصور‬ ‫مردم‬ ‫از‬ ‫بعضی‬ • ‫شوند‬ ‫می‬ ‫فرستاده‬ ‫مکانی‬ ‫به‬ ‫مجازات‬ ‫برای‬ ،‫ميرند‬ ‫می‬ ‫وقتی‬ ‫در‬ ‫مقدس‬ ‫کتاب‬ ‫ببينيم‬ ‫بدهيد‬ ‫اجازه‬ ‫اما‬ . ‫دارد‬ ‫نام‬ " ‫جهنم‬ " ‫که‬ . ‫گويد‬ ‫می‬ ‫چه‬ ‫مورد‬ ‫اين‬ • The Old Testament was first written in the Hebrew language, and afterwards translated into English. The Hebrew word "sheol" mean "a covered place" - and that is the word which has been translated "hell" 31 times. ‫آن‬ ‫از‬ ‫پس‬ ‫و‬ ‫شده‬ ‫نوشته‬ ‫عبری‬ ‫زبان‬ ‫به‬ ‫بار‬ ‫اولين‬ ‫عتيق‬ ‫عهد‬ • ‫معنی‬ ‫به‬ " ‫شيئول‬ " ‫عبری‬ ‫کلمۀ‬ . ‫شد‬ ‫ترجمه‬ ‫انگليسی‬ ‫به‬ 31 ‫که‬ ‫است‬ ‫ای‬ ‫کلمه‬ ‫همان‬ ‫اين‬ ‫و‬ ‫است‬ " ‫سرپوشيده‬ ‫مکانی‬ " . ‫است‬ ‫شده‬ ‫ترجمه‬ "( hell ) ‫جهنم‬ " ‫نام‬ ‫به‬ ‫بار‬ • The covered place referred to is the grave; and it is interesting to note that the translators have actually put "grave" for "sheol" 31 times, too.
