I have my Moon conjunct Mercury in Pisces in the 12th, as well as an Aries Sun in the 12th, so I have lots of personal experience with the entire range of possibilities, from addicted, and seriously ill parents to my own early struggles with addiction, being locked up, having a disabled child-- to following a spiritual path, developing my natural psychic skills, leading retreats and using my gifts to help others who are suffering or simply looking for a guide on their spiritual journey. I also have many regular ongoing clients with a loaded 12th house. My view is that the range of possibilities of 12th house planets must be brought into the client ' s awareness, explaining how to develop the spiritual side of each planet. The Sun is tricky because one must develop a sense of self-esteem while maintaining a spiritual or egoless stance but each planet holds great gifts and are connected to the person ' s soul purpose. There are often karmic issues; the energies may be buried and ' hard to get to '. Risks of outright addiction or condoned mind numbing activities, institutionalization and dissipation of energy are often mentioned, but I tend to focus on the evolutionary goal state because when a client unfolds the highest vibrations of these planets and lives from a spiritually conscious place, much of the negative reputation of the 12th house and tragic events are minimized. Much depends on the client ' s level of consciousness, spiritual development and sometimes their actual age, as well as which planets are in the 12th and which planets they aspect.

As an astrologer and therapist I seem to attract clients with 12th house planetary placements and clients with Piscean energy. The could be because I have a stellium of planets in the 12th house.
Assumptions I hold when interpreting the chart: � The client will not necessarily react immediately to my words in the consultation as there often needs to be a period of reflection, pondering, holding the meaning before a response forms. � The client is not only dealing with personal energies to be worked out, but is also dealing with generational energy that is being worked out through his / her life. � With all clients the level of consciousness, awareness, and self reflection is important, but especially with those who have 12th house placements because the meaning of the planetary energies and the responses therein can be difficult to define. There is definitely a nebulousness in the experience of the 12th house. � In this house particularly be aware of the symbolism coming through the Sign. Often the client will " live " the symbolism of the sign in the 12th in some manner. For instance I have a client going through a very difficult transition at this time. She has a Sagittarius stellium in the 12th. Horse back riding has become very important to her as she reflects on the next step in her life. Literally being at one with her horse is bringing her back to Self.
