The importance of laughter
Laughter: such a small word but with a very deep meaning. We all laugh many times a day. But is this laughter real? When was the last time you laughed from your heart? You felt the happiness inside you and you took a deep breath thanking God for your life? I can’ t remember mine.
While laughing, you feel free and relaxed. You feel happy and lucky. But the truth is that we don’ t laugh very often from our hearts. We just want to make others happy or pretend to be happy. Sometimes we laugh just because we are happy for no reason. I think this is the best way to laugh. Being with your friends, telling jokes to each other. Small moments. But these are the moments that stand the test of time. After years you remember these times and you laugh. You live these moments again!
There are a lot of factors that can make you laugh. No, not the“ funny” videos with kittens. This is a superficial laughter. I am talking about real laughter. You can have this only with family and friends. With people that you love and respect. Laughter can make you a better person. A person with deep feelings and pleasant character. A person that is thankful and doesn’ t get angry or upset with small things. Laughter can change you completely. Can change how others see you. Just with a smile you can make someone’ s day. But this smile must be real. Because we all know how to fake a smile or laughter. But is this important? Just to trick others? We can, but never ourselves.
We all need sometimes a break. A day just being sad. Not wanting to do anything apart from looking at the wall and thinking. But do we really need to be like that every day? I don’ t think so. Once someone said, « Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone ». Others need our smile and so do we. So just look in the mirror and laugh
The English Department would like to wish you a very- very happy summer time!!!
about all your mistakes. About all the times that you did something stupid in front of others. About all the times they laughed at you. Smile and laugh for yourself. As a reward for all the things that you have gone through. For all the times that you came first but also for the times that you were last. Smile and see yourself differently. See it as if it was a different person. And wonder:” Do I like that person?” You should! Because you need to. If you don’ t then who will? You are responsible for yourself and it’ s never bad to ask for help, but happiness can make you feel free!
So think, do I deserve to be happy? You already know the answer. You do! We all do! Because happiness hasn’ t got a price, you cannot buy it. You just have it inside your heart. You need to feel it. If you want, you can do it. It isn’ t always easy, and you will need to try. But you can do it! Because you deserve to be happy!
