What do you enjoy about your work?
As I mentioned, I probably enjoy the individual approach
to each patient and his satisfaction with the treatment re-
sults. It then energises me and gives me the feeling that my
work makes sense.
What is the latest news from orthodontics
you would bring to our patients?
If you follow the latest trends in orthodontics, you need to
attend various seminars and conferences, read the scientific
literature so you are constantly up to date with new trends
and treatment methods. However, I always try to view new
research and methods with a certain detachment and cau-
tion before I start implementing them in the treatment; I
need to rely on enough scientific evidence to be sure that
it is the best choice for my patients. If I could speak about
trends, which are the most popular between patients, then
it would be Incognito braces. These braces are an advanced
generation of braces that are hidden discreetly on the back
of the teeth, not on the front like conventional ‚train tracks‘.
This allows people to go about their daily routine without
feeling self-conscious because their braces are virtually in-
visible from the outside.
Incognito braces are suitable for all age groups - children, ad-
olescents and adults who want to correct their teeth position.
The braces are custom made for each patient to maximize
comfort and ensure precise results. This is achieved by us-
ing the latest computer technology when creating the braces.
Where do you see the future
of orthodontics?
To be more specific, recently I have been interested in a
digitizing the entire field; the involvement of the 3D com-
puter technology could really ease and accelerate the entire
treatment in the future.
How do you relax after a demanding day?
The best way relaxation for me is a sport. Thanks to various
sports activities, I can recharge my batteries and clear my
head before the next working day.
What advice do you have for patients with
slightly uneven teeth that do not want to
wear braces?
In addition to orthodontic treatment, nowadays, we can
treat minor defects also using ultrathin ceramic veneers.
The advantage is the immediate result and it also eliminates
the need for wearing braces. However, this method is not
suitable for all patients, and it should always be indicated
only after consultation with a specialist.
When you reflect on your career, is there
anything that you would change?
When you re-examine your past, you will probably always
find something that you would do differently. I definitely
do not regret that I chose orthodontics as a life - long career.
