How effective are our solutions?...
Within our vlog we spoke about two specific garments, one being the duck egg blue midi dress, from Topshop and the other garment being the white ladies blouse from Wallis. Both tops are well thought out garments however unfortunately both the garments had faults. We made the Vlog so that we could thoroughly talk about what was specifically wrong with both of the garments and what we would do to ensure that they would not get these faults if we were to make them again and we also talked about how we could adapt the style of each of the garments.
I feel that the way we did our vlog was the best and most informative way of getting out point across, we were able to visually see the product and its faults and we could also visually show how we adapt both garments. The Blue dress fault was that it was damaged and the zip was stiff to resolve these issues we said that we would make sure that all garments are bagged in clear plastic bags in order to make sure they stay clean through transit and to make the zip less stiff by changing the style of zip or by putting thinner material around it. We also said that we would adapt the dress to make it simpler by cutting into just a top or cutting off the extra flaps as that way the dress would be much simpler to make.
The white blouse fault was that it had ripped at the seam where the button was and caused a hole in the garment. We said that in order to make sure that the blouse didn’t get any faults we would make sure that the seam allowance was of a larger scale in order to make sure that it would not rip again as this is the reason that the garment ripped. We also said that If we were to adapt the shirt we would change the material as it was a thin and delicate material that would be prone to damage, we also said due to the target market of Wallis that we would either make the material less see through or we would have to put and under garment underneath, so that it would not be see through. We said that to make the garment simpler we would remove the frills around the neck and maybe remove the buttons and make it just V-neck or a high neck blouse.
Overall I feel that we managed to portray and identify the quality control issues for both garments really well and we also manage to show how we would adapt and make our garments more simple to make.
