Get STOKED
Zeta Magazine
Stoked (adj). To be in a state of
happiness, excitement, anticipation,
pride, and optimism.
This year, with new greek life rules that
prohibited Rush Week posters or flyers, Zeta
Chapter was faced with the dilemma of
finding a way to advertise upcoming events
and get freshmen excited about rushing Phi
Kappa Sigma.
Luckily, the Zeta Chapter have several
creative brothers who finished multiple
designs for a rush week T-shirt.
The resulting designs were voted on and the
final design was
chosen. The
chosen design is a
play on the word
Stoked, the three
middle letters
being our Fraternity
letter s and the
crest.
With help from the
Alumni Corp. the
brotherhood was able to purchase the Tshirts, which we all wore with pride through
rush week. We are proud to say the T-shirts
were a success, and we have decided to
make this an annual thing, with a design
competition each year- to maximize the
creativity of our extremely talented brothers.
Thank You Alumni Corp for your kind and
generous donation and help!

N PKS RUSH WEEK 2014N
Spring 2014 Rush Week commenced on February 10th and PKS Zeta
planned a week filled with exciting times.
Making use of some of our annual Rush Week traditions as well as
some new and exciting events, the brother hood banded together to
plan and execute a great week. Here is the list of events:
Monday: House tour and meet and greet
Tuesday: Dodgeball
Wednesday: Poker Night
Thursday: Burgers and Brats Live Band (Unfortunately the band
cancelled because of the snow storm, but the potential new members
candidates were treated to a selection of meat products donated by
owner of Nello’s Specialty Meats, Nello Loiacono, father of our
academic chair and in house photographer Matt Loiacono’15)
Overall, the week went
very well and we are
proud to have an
incoming pledge class of
7 wonderful potential
new members!
Spring 2014 Pledge Class
Dear Alumni,
I hope all is going well with you in the new year of 2014! We undergrads
have certainly been enjoying our time in and around the house. We wanted
to take this time to thank you for your continuing and generous support
across the last few months. Fratsgiving in November was a great hit with our
fantastic alumnus chef, Dave Zuckerman. We received several compliments
from brothers and rushees alike. We also wanted to thank you for your
extremely generous help during our Rush Week. We currently have 7
prospective new members who are some of the most
dedicated this brotherhood has seen in years. We
couldn't have done it without you!
Thank you again for all you have helped us with, both
in terms of finances and mentoring. We look forward
to maintaining this strong relationship in the future
for years to come.
Best wishes,
Steven Sklar ‘15, Recruitment Chair
