"If your hair is not in a healthy state, it will never grow."

1. Apply Mint Almond Oil As A Moisturizer

Winter Problem: Dryness and Shedding

Why You Should Use Mint Almond Oil: The peppermint oil boosts shine and gloss to the hair and also gives the hair body.

When to Use Mint Almond Oil: In the Morning

How Often to Use Mint Almond Oil: Everyday

Application: Apply Mint Almond Oil once or twice a week to moisturize the scalp. Place lightly on the hair follicles.

Tips: The Mint Almond Oil is a great supplement to be added to other Mielle products or to your preferred shampoo for added moisture. View our other line of products that moisturize.

2. Apply Mint Almond Oil As A Hot Oil Treatment

Winter Problem: Breakage / Itchy, Dry Scalp

Why You Should Use Mint Almond Oil: The almond oil is a protein

that binds to the hair, locking in moisture and preventing breakage.

When to Use Mint Almond Oil: At Night

How Often to Use Mint Almond Oil: Monthly

Application:

After washing your hair thoroughly, boil 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Take 2 tbsp. (30 ml) of our Mint Almond Oil and place the oil in a small bowl. Place the small bowl in the saucepan of water on the stove. Stand by until the oil becomes warm but not hot as you do not want to burn yourself. Remove the oil cup with an oven mitt. On damp hair, massage the oil into your scalp using fingertips dipped in the warm oil. Working your way from roots to ends, massage all the hot oil into your hair. If preferred, comb through your hair while wet. This is actually the ideal state to comb when it’s saturated with conditioner. Place hair under a shower cap and sit under a heat cap or steamer for 15-20 minutes. This ensures better absorption of the oil. Wash and rinse hair thoroughly. Style in a protective style overnight under a silk bonnet or silk pillowcase for optimal results. Repeat once per month

*Tips:

Do not brush your hair while wet, just comb. Brushing while wet causes breakage.

Don’t go outside with wet hair in the winter because you risk extra breakage.

Depending on the level of your breakage, a weekly protein strengthening treatment may be perfect. We recommend our Babassu Oil Deep Conditioner if you need a deeper conditioning.

3. Apply Mint Almond Oil As A Sealant

Winter Problem: Split Ends

Why You Should Use Mint Almond Oil: The sweet almond oil works great as a “sealant.” This means that it “locks-in” moisture. Sweet almond oil also nourishes hair, smoothing hair cuticles to control shedding.

When to Use Mint Almond Oil: At Night

How Often to Use Mint Almond Oil: Weekly

Application: Try making this a part of your nighttime routine. Before bed, rub the oil into the last few inches of your hair and on your edges, then apply your scarf and/or bonnet. During the day, style in a protective style for optimal results.

*Tips: Avoid wearing wool hats during the winter. Although wool hats are fashionable during the winter, they can draw moisture away from the hair, leaving hair brittle and susceptible to breakage. We recommend lining your hat with silk or satin to keep your hair protected from the harm that wool can cause that may lead to breakage.

The winter season is the prime time for hair damage due to all of the various winter elements. Often, our hair lacks moisture, which increases breakage and the development of split ends. What we have found is that moisturizing the hair is key to the journey of growing a head of healthy hair. In order for your hair to grow, it must first be strong and healthy. Moisture protects and strengthens our hair in order to promote growth.

One part of strengthening the hair and the prevention of thinning hair, is by making the hair follicles stronger. A way to encourage hair strengthening is to feed it essential nutrients consistently. One of them, Magnesium, is an essential supplement that creates strong hair follicles and hair strands. One of our best selling products, the Mint Almond Oil, includes sweet almond oil, a rich source of Magnesium. Remember:

Another ingredient in our infamous Mint Almond Oil is peppermint oil. As the hair strengthens, this oil promotes hair growth. Studies have shown that blood flow to the scalp plays an important role in hair growth. The peppermint oil in our Mint Almond Oil soothes and re-balances the scalp. In addition, it binds the hair roots and increases the blood circulation, which provides the scalp stimulation necessary for proper hair growth. A lightweight natural oil, our Mint Almond Oil can be used during various hair phases and hair care applications. Here are our three recommendations to combat the typical winter elements and still help you grow healthy hair, even in the wintertime.
