How did you change your diet? Was it quick or did it slowly evolve over a period of years? MK: I figured at my age there was no time to move slowly. I went on a seven- day juice detox then immediately to a raw food diet. I felt great after the detox, but since I’m a foodie I wasn’t sure I would like raw food as a steady diet. Why do you continue to live on a raw vegan diet? MK: I quickly found out how much I love raw food. When you learn how to prepare raw food the variety is vast. The desserts are better than standard desserts. It’s like making art when you prepare raw food because it’s so very creative. Just looking at all the colors seem to make me happy. There is so much life in fruits and vegetables. Besides the delicious food, I feel energized and I have no more health problems. My cholesterol and blood pressure are normal, and I haven’t had an arthritic pain since I started. That would be enough for anyone to continue eating raw food.
