Recommendations to NGO’s on
tackling extremism and xenophobia
Introduction
The writers of this report felt the urge to write the given recommendations to NGO’s in the
framework of Erasmus+. The recommendations are specifically aimed at NGOs because NGO’s
are the closest actors to the society and they have a crucial role in promoting human rights
and dignity values. The current situation in Europe, which includes the refugee crisis and
extremism, urges especially NGO’s to tackle themes such as prejudice, stereotyping
and discrimination. If we tackle these issues in time, we can prevent the increasing
extremism and bring harmony between the different cultures instead of the
current polarization in society. Tackling these issues is in addition necessary in order
