ELECTIVE HIGH SCHOOL CLASSES ON DRAMA EDUCATION
Summary
Contemporary education requires engagement from both the teacher and the
student. Students are no longer passive recipients of education, but active
participants who explore topics, raise questions, find answers, and practice critical
thinking about the world around them, thus breathing new life into the learning
content. Our drama class takes that approach to learning, with regards to both
content and teaching. %is paper discusses the implementation of the drama class
curriculum in the overall high-school curriculum, as introduced in the “Sesvete”
High School. %e paper describes various challenges encountered during the period
of one school year and difficulties in quantifying student output, and proposes an
improved model for the next school year.
