SUCASARI & PRIMERO DE ENERO 6
Throughout our time in the Amazon, we went to seven different villages, all providing a different perspective of how they perceive community and education. One of the villages we visited on our fifth day in Peru was the Sucasari village. While we were there, we spent a lot of time with the women who lived in the community, and they taught us a little bit about their education system as well as different aspects of their culture. They showed each of us how to make different crafts, broadening our understanding and appreciation for the hard work that goes into what they do. After spending the morning with the women, we all formed evident connections with each of them despite the language barrier. It was a very calm feeling, and although it differed from what we experienced at many of the other villages, it felt very strong. I can still feel it in me now.
