WHAT'S NEXT?
So far, the Cultural Strengthening Center has been a large success, with their first event being a chess competition among all ages. The entire community has been involved and is loving it all while furthering their awareness of their environments and beginning to love learning.
After viewing the success of this model during our time in the Amazon and then proceeding through the Design Thinking Process, we would like to create a Cultural Center in another community. To be able to do so, our goal for the May 19th family event, Night of Exploration, is to raise $4,000. All proceeds of this exciting event will go to the Cultural Strengtheneing Center. After seeing the benefits the Cultural Strengthening Center brought to the village of Santa Maria de Fatima community, we would love to create a similar opportunity for another community, just like they gave us the opportuntiy to learn more about ourselves!
