Ms. Nurjahan Begum was one of the earliest
associates of Nobel Laureate Professor
Muhammad Yunus during the establishment of
Grameen Bank. Currently she is an Advisor of
Honorable Chairman at Yunus Centre and
Chairman at Grameen Distribution. She holds
the position of Chairperson or Direc- tor in the
Boards of several Grameen organizations. She is
currently serving as Direc- tor of Grameen
ItalianFoundation, Italy and Center for Mass
Education in Science (CMES), Bangladesh. Ms.
Nurjahan won Susan M. Davis Lifetime
Achievement Award 2008 by Grameen
Foundation. She also achieved World Summit
Millennium Development Goals Award 2009,
and Vision Award 2009. She participated in
Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit held in
Los Angeles in 2007. Also, she was appointed as
the President of Foundation for Justice prize
giving ceremony held in Valencia,Spain in 2007.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim is the Head of the
Department of General Education at University
of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and Professor of
Physics at University of Dhaka. Apart from his
academic career, he is also the founder, editor and
publisher of Biggan Samoeeke, a monthly
periodical in science. With a vision to empower
the disadvantaged adolescents economically
through skills devel- opment,he founded Centre
for Mass educa- tion. He has a Ph.D in Physics
from university of Southampton, UK. His subject
of concern were Solid State Physics, Renewable
Energy, Sustainable Development. He is also the
Chair, Federation of NGOs in Bangladesh,
President, Bangladesh Solar Energy Society,
Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur, World
Eco-nomic Forum, Geneva, Switzerland and
author of 40 books.
