LOYCE ODHIAMBO
dreaming of one of these for ages,
but has just not been able to find
the time. Aromatherapy is a one of
a kind therapy that uses different
scents to balance one’s well-being
both emotionally and physically.
The term aromatherapy was coined
by a French Chemist, Rene-Maurice
Gattefosse, in 1937. This came after
he witnessed the first-hand healing
power of lavender oils on skin burns.
If wondering where your mom can
have such an experience, there
are numerous great spa options to
choose from in Nairobi.
4. Write her a poem
“It’s not the money you spend but
the love you put into it” mothers are
prone to say. Well put your heart
into this one and spell it out to her.
Poems don’t need to be long or
complicated, a few words to express
your love and respect for her will
suffice. Invest in a nice card, write
a rough copy and when you think
you’ve nailed it, transcribe in your
best handwriting.
5. Take Her Out for an Exotic Dinner
Has your mother ever tried Chinese
or Eritrean food? This is your chance
to show her a good time and delight
her tastebuds with something new
and potentially exotic. Double
Dragon at Junction mall serves an
authentic Chinese fare while the
newly opened branch of Asmara
on General Mathenge drive, serves
delicious Eritrean food (basically the
same as Ethiopian) with a modern
flare in an exquisitely designed
setting.
