The First Year
FRIDAY, 20TH OF NISSAN:
An individual came to the Rebbe and posed the question,“ When will the Rebbe accept the Nessius?” The Rebbe replied,“ The Friediker Rebbe will say!”
There was a man who asked the Rebbe for Yechidus. Whereupon the Rebbe replied:“ To someone who wears a short jacket, do you want to go to him for Yechidus? That’ s not a Rebbe. Did you ever see a Rebbe wear a short jacket?”
The man retorted,“ I didn’ t come for the jacket ~ I came for the Rebbe!” The Rebbe granted him a Yechidus.
SUNDAY, 22ND OF NISSAN- ACHRON SHEL PESACH:
Today, the elders of Anash asked the Rebbe to say Chassidus but the Rebbe refused. After the Seudas Moshiach and Bentching, they sang the Alter Rebbe’ s Niggun. Throughout the Niggun the Rebbe was very emotional. After the Seuda they Davened Mincha.
SUNDAY, 29TH OF NISSAN- EREV ROSH CHODESH
IYAR:
The Rebbe went to the Ohel. Rabbi Zalmen Gourary related that lately when anyone asked the Rebbe for a blessing for his business, the Rebbe would tell him to let him know all about the business before he went to the Ohel. When the Rebbe would return, he would enquire whether the situation had improved!
