MOTZEI SHABBOS- FIRST NIGHT OF PESACH:
The Seder took place in the Friediker Rebbe’ s apartment just as in previous years. The Kaira, Kois and an area to lean was arranged by the Friediker Rebbe’ s place just as if the Friediker Rebbe was here B‘ gashmius. The Rebbe leaned while drinking the“ Four Cups” and when eating Matza. One of Anash asked why the Rebbe was leaning( since one shouldn’ t lean in the presence of his Rebbe). The Rebbe replied that,“ Regarding Halachah, the Torah is not in heaven!”
At 11:00 pm the Rebbe ate the Afikomen. Following this, all who were present said Hallel during which the Rebbe was in tears. After they finished the fourth Kois, Rabbi S. Zalmanov began singing the Alter Rebbe’ s Niggun as in previous years. The Rebbe remained silent throughout the Niggun. Shalom Chaskind and Yosef Zalmanov opened the door for Eliahu Hanavi. There are no words to describe the Bittul of the Rebbe throughout the course of the Seder. The Rebbe acted as if the Friediker Rebbe was present B‘ gashmius.
SUNDAY, FIRST DAY OF PESACH:
After Davening, the Rebbe turned to the members of
Anash who were standing there. He enquired why they had not come to the Seder the night before. The Rebbe continued:“ When the doors were closed, everybody pushed to get in, and now that the doors are open no one comes!”
