Me and my baby cat Raza live happily together in our humble home. he global box office dominance of superhero adaptations is truly a pop culture phenomenon. The majority of these stem from the two predominant comic book houses DC (Batman, Superman) and Marvel (Avengers, X-men). Together the houses represent eighty per cent of the comic book readership. In recent years efforts have been made to diversify superheroes ethnicity and orientation in order to appeal to a wider readership. In DC’s case we all know Batman but has anyone heard of Batwoman? In 2011 DC rebooted its main universe entitled the ‘New 52’. In the reboot Batwoman was assigned a new sexual orientation, openly lesbian and a new religious background Jewish. DC also ran an extensive publicity blitz indicating a major character will be revealed as gay.
