Your Extraordinary LIFE 2022 | Page 3

Dear Alumni & Friends of Life University ,
This past May marked the five-year anniversary of my appointment as president at Life University . It seems the time has flown by at an immeasurable speed , but when I sit and ponder on the changes from that time until now , I can remember the growth – at times painstaking growth – that has occurred from then to now . I ’ ve been fortunate to have had a bird ’ s-eye view of this growth to see what all has contributed to it . In the end , it seems to always come down to these three main factors : the right vision to strive toward , the right leadership to direct to the vision and the right people to execute the vision . I ’ m pleased to say that Life U has these three in spades , and that ’ s why I ’ m confident that the growth I ’ ve seen will continue in the years ahead .
I would like to remind everyone as we continue to move forward of our Life U CREDO . Now , what is a Credo , you may ask . The word “ Credo ” is Latin and simply means “ I believe .” So , in essence , Life U ’ s Credo is our belief statement for the University , and here ’ s what it states :
We believe that living systems are self-aware , self-developing , self-maintaining and self-healing . We understand that living systems function best when operating free of interference . We recognize that interference results in the diminished expression and quality of life . Therefore , Life University ’ s programs are designed to educate students to identify and correct interference , allowing living systems to improve expression of their innate potential .
This 2022 issue of Your Extraordinary LIFE is one that looks at the dynamics behind and importance of rebranding a university . Just last year , our leadership team , in collaboration with the Life U Marketing Department and an outside marketing and branding agency called Mindpower , went to work on a much-needed shift in the look , feel and mindset behind the Life U brand that we have already seen make a huge difference in our recruiting efforts . Highlighted by the brand expression “ It ’ s In You ,” the new Life U Brand Toolkit does a better job communicating our values , mission and vision through both words and visuals to the modern consumer . You can read a lot more about our brand-new look in this year ’ s feature story .
Life U has significant plans for the New Year and beyond as we move further into our 2040 Strategic Plan . Our four guiding strategic initiatives within the plan include :
1 . Achieving Preeminence as a Vitalistic University 2 . Manifesting Excellence and Maturing as an Institution of Influence 3 . Strengthening Our Educational Process , Operations and Systems 4 . Expanding Our Leadership
The strategies and projects to successfully achieve these initiatives are detailed more thoroughly in this issue . I firmly believe that being transparent with the vision that our Board of Trustees and Executive Leadership Team have created allows our Life
U community to see that we have concrete plans in place to position the University for long-term success . And along with these concrete plans , I find that an important way to keep motivation high to reach our big goals is visualizing success . I invite you all to do that with us by looking at our Life University Map of the Future in this issue , which shows the exciting additions to our campus that will mark the next
18 years of progress toward the successful completion of the 2040 Strategic Plan . All these new campus facilities will support the four guiding strategic initiatives listed above and create an even more dynamic campus culture than the one that already exists at Life U today .
We are already seeing these campus additions come to fruition , as this issue of YEL highlights the grand opening of our Running Eagles Performance ( REP ) Center by Lupo Family Field . This state-of-the-art , multi-purpose center was a dire need for our student-athlete population , which makes up a substantial percentage of our undergraduate students on campus . Hear from our Athletic Director Jayme Pendergast as she describes how the REP Center helps serve the vision of Life U Athletics .
And as always with YEL , we have so many interesting stories about the people who make Life U the amazing place it is , from the best and brightest of our students and faculty on campus to the alumni and friends making a difference in their communities and the world around them . I hope you get a glimpse of what makes Life U such a special place to those who call it their home .
President Rob Scott , D . C ., Ph . D .
