NEWS AND EVENTS OF LIFE UNIVERSITY

Highlights from a Year of COMMENCEMENT at Life U

This year brought a little more normalcy to campus with physically distanced , in-person commencements that were also livestreamed for friends and family to be a part of the celebration from a distance . Having both attendance options has illustrated one of the many ways that Life University has implemented some of the benefits that came from the necessity of adding virtual events . Many loved ones of graduates who could not be present due to travel restrictions , etc . were to be
able to attend virtually and celebrate the graduates ’ hard work and perseverance during an educational experience that held many unforeseen challenges .
The graduates were commended on their ability to be adaptable to the many challenges faced , and several of the commencement speeches given by the valedictorians addressed the resiliency of the students and the strength and closeness these difficult years brought them .

Excerpts from our Fall 2020 – Summer 2021 Valedictorian Addresses

Bastian Fischer , CGUS Valedictorian , Fall 2020
The one thing that I want to give you on your way is that every single one of us has the ability to change lives , whether it is your own or someone else ’ s . And even if we go out there in the big wide world , and we don ’ t have the support or the people that believe in us , you still have the ability to make an impact .
Elisha Lee Jones , COC Valedictorian , Fall 2020
Quitting is easy . Settling is easy . Living with a rope is easy . But breaking free , living your dreams and changing the world is hard . It takes ambition , bravery , conviction and determination to know you have the strength to break your own ropes . Never , ever give up .
Maverick Borges , CGUS Valedictorian , Winter 2021
It is my goal and my hopes for everyone else here that we carry these ideas with us as we move on in life , that we will take this education and experience and use it to the best of our abilities , that we never stop chasing our dreams , or let any challenges we face stop us from success .
Sabrina Weaver , COC Valedictorian , Winter 2021
And lastly , turn up the music that we call Chiropractic ! Preach innate intelligence ! Preach Vitalism ! Preach how powerful the nervous system is ! Preach how amazing our bodies are and preach what the “ normal ” should be !
Silja Rós Petursdottir , CGUS Valedictorian , Spring 2021
We all should be a part of the change and do our best so the next generations will have better opportunities . So please , listen , observe and take a stand when you see something wrong . Be known for your confidence and courage .
Rebecca Rose Oliveira , COC Valedictorian , Spring 2021
Courage comes from deep within us when we trust in our purpose and release our fear of failure … every day when a patient trusts you to care for them , you are given the opportunity to change their life . You have the opportunity to offer them hope and healing through the unique gifts that you possess .
Sophie Hose , CGUS Valedictorian , Summer 2021 ( speech submitted in writing )
Be grateful for the life you are living , but never stop reaching for the stars . Be curious and purposeful in your actions , kind and respectful in your words and powerful in your defense of diversity and equality . I truly believe that there is greatness awaiting you all , so when you leave here today , work hard to pursue your dreams !
Marilyn Marina De Freitas , COC Valedictorian , Summer 2021
We are all world changers , and we are meant to make a difference with the gifts that we have been blessed with . It is our responsibility to go forth and use those gifts for others . Let us choose to be bold , to be courageous . Let us choose to be the difference we wish to see in this world .
