SEASON 2013 NOVEMBER FEBRUARY In the girls’ ranks Lomond Colts and Forfar Farmington Wildcats were crowned champions at the 13’s age group, whereas Dundee United SC Girls were top of the tree at 15’s. Lomond Colts and Dundee United were celebrating doubles, after both winning their respective League Cups earlier in the season. The first and second rounds of the various league cups were on their way in the DDYFA, as the teams were eager to kick off their cup runs. There were plenty of close games, as the Under 15’s Fairmuir won 7-4 after extra time, knocking out Broughty United. Broughty did have a good month as a whole though as they jumped up the table by beating local rivals Monifieth 4-0. There was also the Scottish Cup 4th round, which seen a few East Region teams advance into the next round, including Dryburgh under 14’s who impressively defeated Kilsyth Athletic 7-0. Alan Gallazzi’s Dundee Senior Schoolboys team won the young team of the year award on Wednesday 20th February 2013 at the 2012 Dundee Sports Awards. The team last year won the SSFA National Trophy and were acknowledged as the young team of the year for this achievement. The ceremony was held at the Caird Hall in Dundee and the team accepted the award in front of a crowd of other sporting teams, coaches and athletes in Dundee.
