Linda ’ s farewell — Finance Officer Linda Bahr hung up her calculator and began her well-earned retirement following 12 years of sterling service . A great turnout of staff joined Linda for an afternoon tea at Queens Gardens in Townsville — a fitting send off for a great colleague and mate .
Putting the fun into fundraising
Staff members have a long tradition of raising money for good causes , and this year ’ s fundraising drives involved plenty of exercise , cake , and laughter . Charitable activities included :
Movember — An eight-strong mixed team of fundraisers , captained by Senior Grazing Field Officer Joe O ’ Reagain , walked and ran a total of 532 kilometres and lifted 61,077 kilograms . Male members of the group had a stab at growing moustaches ( with varying levels of success ), and female members did their best to get into the spirit with some artificial assistance ! The team raised $ 2,346 supporting men ’ s health issues .
World ’ s Biggest Morning Tea — Staff raised $ 200 for the Cancer Council while feasting on an assortment of tasty food prepared by their colleagues .

One Foot Forward — Senior Biodiversity Project Officer Jaymie Rains ran 300 kilometres , walked 50 kilometres and cycled 100 kilometres to raise $ 1,577 for mental health .
