SARAH PRESENTS AT WOMEN IN SUGAR CONFERNCE Sugar Team Project Officer Sarah Willis presented an overview of NQ Dry Tropics ’ activities in the Lower Burdekin to more than 90 attendees at the 2022 Women in Sugar Australia Conference held in Ayr .
Industry representatives from Wilmar , Canegrowers , Queensland Sugar Ltd , Sugar Research Australia and Lower Burdekin Water also addressed the conference on a range of issues relevant to growers .
Sarah said the two-day event provided a wonderful opportunity to share stories , and network in an educational , supportive environment .

James Cook University Earth Sciences undergraduate Karen Scarpa spent several weeks out in the field picking up valuable skills , including a visit to Ayr to monitor the health of beach scrub .
