Lord Forster , former Governor-General of Australia , was a prime mover in 1he introducrinn nf rhe 21-ft resrric1cd class and presented the Forster Cup . Whilst the 21 ยท fl restricted class is nor raced today . rhe Forsler Cup continues .
Since 1969 ii has been sailed for in 1he Soling class in interstate competition . Titc Forster Cup is now held by the Sandringham Yacht Club , Victorin . The current Australian champion is Garry Sheard .
Sir Rupen Clarke ( Ban ) prescmed Ll1is magnificent trophy in 1922 for competition in rhc newly fanned 21-fi nmricted class .
