There tS the summer , spring and overall point score racing . Prizes are given by classes for lhese three evcnL •. In many instances these are most valuable prizes with the winner ' s name and that of his yacht being engraved on some of the club · s prestigious old trophies . On Sundays the Centreboard Division holds its rnces . 111e club also conducts a regular Saturday afternoon winter series of rnces .
Tbroughout the week there is always a race on Wednesday afternoons rorclnss and division yachis . This Wednesday race is held every day of the year except when Christmas Day falls on a Wednes < lay .
Through the spring : ind summer seasons the club conducts a 1l1ursday evening twilight race , generally followed byenienainment and a barbecue on the lawns in front of the Yachtsman ' s Bar .

Plus . of course , its offshore races •• Ch a .~ the Montagu Island Race which has been in existence • inoc 1947 , and the Coffs Harbour and El Admiral ' s Cup Series . The Coffs Harbour race is a mce from the Piuwa1er to Coffs Harbour and the El Admiral ' s Cup ls n rnce around the Solitary Islands . These races are conducted in conjunction with the Coffs Hnrbour Yncht Club .
In tl1e early days of the club ar Green PoinL members complained that the club was too remote . This may hnve been so in those days but the club is changing In aspect . Even when tile Rowe Street clubrooms were sold in 1971 there was a huge outcry that the club was not doing the righ1 thing . that the Committee did not have the majority of members in nund and that 11 was selling the city club under the members ' feet . Similarly . and prior 10 the development of Green Point before World War a , there had been a cry 10 sell the Green Point property . Maybe that was right al the time but members were 001 thinking far enough nhend .
