The Basin Cup is rnied highly by both lhe Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron and the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club . Due 10 these clubs ' involvement in around the buoys rJcing it was decided in 1969 ( 10 to band the conduct or the race over to the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia . who , without an ' llutside race nt this time , agreed to conduct U1e race on be hair of tho Alfreds . The CYCA conducted the race from 1970 un1ll 1983 bu1 it is no longer on I heir calendar .
It is disappointing that the CYCA appears Lo have dropped the race and it is hoped that it may be reins1atcd .
