In January 1965 membership limits were considered . Membership limits of a roral of 1500 ( aU classes of membership ) had been lodged with the Registrar-General and at this s ~ 1ge I . here were nearly 1480 members . fl was r ¢ SOJved that once the membership reached 1480 a waiting list would be established . By 29 April 1965 membershlp stood at 1501 with a waiting list of :

Men1bers had been generous in providing their own moror boats to act as starters ' boats but it was thought that the club should have its own boat . The problem was solved by Jack Prirchctt and Jack Parker purchasing for the club a 25-ft fishing boat from Pon Kembla . Thls boat was christened Greg Cw / er in honour of the Commodore of the day . J . K . CuUer .
A well-respected member , Eric Spring-Brown , passed away and the Greg Cutler was updated by the purchase from hls estate of hls rwin di c ~ l 32-ft cruiser M11rriandi . The Greg Cutler was sold ro the Middle Harbour Yacht Club and Murria11di was renamed Greg Cutler If . She is still doing a sterling job for the club .
