Other parts of the tour includes a display of a “bush” herb garden with many traditional herbs,
one in particular you would not expect to be growing there but is naturally associated with the
Rasta culture which was a part of who Bob was. There is the house where Bob resided while in
the city, which was also the place where he recorded most of his music. Inside there are displays of his albums which went platinum and diamond, articles of the places he performed at,
artifacts and original setups of Bob’s bedroom and kitchen which are only viewed from their
room entrances. At back of the house there is a beautiful gallery of pictures of Bob and his band
and showcases of his original guitar and recording equipment. Lastly, persons are led to a small
movie room to watch a short clip about Bob’s life.
At the end you can browse the souvenir shop
for various creative Bob Marley item from jewelry, clothes and other creative items. There is
also a store beside the souvenir shop which sells
items created by Bob’s daughter, Cedella Marley.
Afterwards, you can purchase lunch at the restaurant at the front which is strictly “ital.”
This experience at a small cost is fitting for a
plan to celebrate Jamaica’s 50 years of sovereignty. So call up your family, or your best
friends and make it an event on your list of places to celebrate being Jamaican. The tour is even
offered in different languages so any nationality
can enjoy the experience.
