5 Signs That Your Relationship Is Toxic
Toxic relationships are distinguished by controlling behaviours , a lack of support , and constantly feeling attacked or demeaned . Even with indicators that may appear apparent to others , the boundary between healthy and unhealthy relationships can be easily crossed , and it can be challenging to recognise .
While the right relationship can bring peace and joy , the wrong one can tear your life apart in various ways . We have provided five signs of a toxic relationship for you to recognize and make the right decision .

1 . You are constantly arguing
Even though it is normal for couples to argue and even fight sometimes , when this happens repeatedly , and you feel as if you are arguing more than enjoying each other ’ s company , then this is when the relationship is toxic . These issues in the relationship can leave you feeling hurt and drained .
2 . There is frequent lying
Honesty should be at the top of your priorities in a relationship . Telling the truth to someone , even if you know it will hurt them , demonstrates your willingness to accept responsibility for your actions , which in the end shows how much you care and respect the other person . If they constantly lie to you , it shows there is a lack of respect , and you do not want someone in your life that doesn ’ t respect you .
3 . They leave you during difficult times
I once read a quote that said , “ the people who stay with you during hard times really care about you .” People abandoning you because they get too uncomfortable during tough times is not worth it , and you are better off without them . You shouldn ’ t feel like you ’ re walking on eggshells with them .
4 . They are constantly criticizing you
A partner who continuously criticizes you is attempting to lower your self-esteem to increase your dependence on them . There is a big difference between constructive criticism , where you both help each other grow , bringing the best out of each other , than when you feel worthless hanging out with them .
5 . They worsen your mental health If they are constantly dismissing you and your feelings , and you find yourself feeling emotionally drained after spending time with them , then that is a sign that they are harming your mental health . Slowly the feelings of anxiety and depression will arise , and sometimes without you noticing them increasing .
However , there is a possibility of fixing a toxic relationship , but this can only happen if both partners are willing to adapt and work towards improving the relationship daily . Overall , relationships are not easy but are sometimes worth trying for .
