Warrior Reads and analyze their data to see which area their client would need to improve . The trainer would then give the clients guidance and suggestions on what exercises they could try and practice on a routine basis to keep them fit . For example , if a client is rated as ‘ needs improvement ’ for muscular endurance , they could work on push-ups , plank get-ups , squats , lunges , and any other activities so long as it could help them improve their muscular endurance .
For testing of the cardiovascular endurance , our clients would be asked to run for 800 meters around the field while we use a stopwatch to record the time for the clients to run . For the core muscular endurance , our clients would do a plank while we record the amount of time for which our clients could hold the plank . For the upper body muscular endurance , the trainers would count how many push-ups a client could do in one minute . Finally , the client would also do a sit and reach test where a client would reach as far as they could without bending their knees for testing their flexibility .
Many students volunteered to join the Warrior Fitness Committee which was responsible for designing the field and preparing for the Warrior Fitness session . My friend , Sophia , explains more about this committee below .
Even though everything was well planned , unfortunately , there was some unexpected air pollution in the afternoon on that day which disrupted the activities . We thought that the activity had to stop completely . To our relief , the gym was open , and many teachers invited us to do the training in their classrooms as well .
Through the testing and analysis , I discovered that most of the students were only performing at an average level in holding a plank and need improvement at the core muscular endurance . Only a small percent of students could hold the plank for 5 minutes or longer and received an excellent rating while others could only hold it for 1-3 minutes . This finding tells us that we really need more exercises to stay fit !
I learned from this event that what is important to students is not only academic improvements , but also mental and physical fitness . If you do not want to jump , run , play and exercise , you do not do a good job in taking good care of your body . Please do more outdoor activities after you spend time reading or writing . Also , please spread the idea to people close to you to encourage them to do more exercises and have a healthy body . Keep fit and try to exercise daily !
