1. Lecrae - Church Clothes hosted by Don Cannon

If you are still sleeping on Lecrae after the first track or two, that’s disappointing and the objective will become- how to wake you up! Lecrae is a Christian rapper and has officially put Christian Hip Hop in the spotlight with the release of Church Clothes, his mixtape hosted by the famed AMG DJ, Don Cannon. By merely listening to the beats, checking his swag, it would be hard to distinguish him as a Christian Hip Hop artist. If you are of the mold where true artistry takes precedent, listen to the lyrics. His lyricism is based on the desire to change the world. I understand some folks will automatically tune this one out for the God-fearing lyrics, but I hope that people will give this mixtape a real listen. With singles such as Cold World featuring Tasha Catour and produced by Street Symphony, there is undoubtedly substance and a great message at work; lyrically ominous in a sense Tasha Catour warns, "We live in a cold, cold world." At that moment, the tone is set for the song and its subsequent verses. Lecrae goes on to talk about current issues, placing merit on his proclamation:

"......and her son is getting older, streets is making him colder/But his mommas out cold cuz she ain't never quite sober/His sister 15 but you probably would think that she’s a grown up cuz she be with some men acting way too grown up/”
