INTERNATIONAL DEPARTMENT PROJECTS

The sport and social promotion projects implemented by
OPES are the bricks to build the walls of a new society.
To shape a solid structure, it is necessary to have strong
foundations and a binding material that cements each
centimeter built. The values of sport and physical activities
fulfill these two delicate tas k s. The value of the work
developed by OPES, based on the idea that recreational
and sport activities favor th e psycho-physical well-
being, has been recognized in Italy as well as abroad. At the
European level, OPES is member of ENGSO (European
Non-Governmental Sports Organization) and through it
is engaged in the promotion and enhancement of sport
at grassroots level. Together with the other members
and partners of ENGSO, OPES i s carrying out various
projects that are having and will have a strong impact on
the society, also by producing models that can be used
by sport organizations and associations from the various
European countries.
“Come In” project (www.comeinproject.com), is born
within this framework, with the aim to create and increase
the offers of inclusive sport activities involving young
people with and without disabilities at the grassroots
level. The project is coming to an end and will be
concluded with a final event, held in France from 24 th
to 26th of October. After a first training phase, involving
24 coaches, instructors, volunteers, youth workers and
sports leaders, the national teams from three countries
(Italy, France and the United Kingdom), have planned
and implemented pilot activities in their realities. The
results of the activities will be also included in the “Come
In-Toolkit”, a guideline prepared by the partners of the
project (OPES, SPARC, ENGSO Youth, ANESTAPS and
Special Olympics) that will support members and all
sports operators to implement inclusive sports activities in
their local context.
