The Arizona Municipal Water Users Association is a non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors composed of mayors and council members representing its ten member cities and towns. For more than 43 years, AMWUA has worked to protect our members' ability to provide assured, safe and sustainable water supplies to their communities. In the 1970's AMWUA became a leading advocate for changes to the state's groundwater laws, ultimately resulting in the passage of the landmark 1980 Groundwater Management Act. Since 1980, AMWUA and its members have continued to develop and pursue policies that safeguard Arizona's water supplies for future generations. The following slides illustrate just some of AMWUA's historical efforts.
